Play Palette : Privacy Policy

SPORTLIGHT Ltd. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the iOS and MacOS application Play Palette (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.

Play Palette is a tool that helps with sports video tagging. The App does not require account registration. Coder layouts and tagging data you create are stored on your device by default.

  1. Scope
    This Privacy Policy applies to your use of the App. The “App Privacy” details shown on the App’s App Store product page reflect the information we declare in App Store Connect and are intended to be consistent with this policy.
  2. Information We Handle

2.1 Data Stored on Your Device (not sent to our servers)
To provide core App features, the following information is stored on your device. We do not transmit or store this data on our own servers.

Coder names and layout settings (tag buttons, captions, positions, links)
Recorded tagging instances (start/end times, code names, labels, etc.)
Sportscode-compatible XML export history (files on device and in-app history)
App-related settings (e.g., cached subscription status)

If you use the App’s share features to send or receive XML or .tagcoder files via Mail, AirDrop, Files, or other services, those transfers are handled by the third-party services you choose, under their own terms and privacy policies.

2.2 Information We Do Not Collect Directly
We do not directly collect:

Contact information (name, email, phone number, address)
Location data
Contacts or photo library data from your device
Payment card numbers, bank account details, or other payment credentials

  1. Subscriptions (Pro Plan)
    The App offers an auto-renewable subscription called Pro Plan. Payments are processed by Apple Inc. We do not have access to your payment information.

3.1 Plans

Monthly plan (Product ID: monthly.plan)
Yearly plan (Product ID: yearly.plan)

Pricing is shown on the App Store at the time of purchase (including applicable taxes).

3.2 Purchase, Restore, and Cancellation

Purchases are made through the App Store.
You can restore purchases from the in-app Paywall (upgrade screen).
To cancel or manage your subscription, go to iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
After cancellation, you may retain Pro access until the end of the current paid period.

3.3 Free vs. Pro

Free: Limited number of Coders; ads may be shown.
Pro: Unlimited Coders; no ads.

  1. Advertising (Free Plan)
    On the free plan, banner ads may appear on the home screen. Pro subscribers do not see ads.
    We use Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) to serve ads. AdMob may collect and process information such as: Device identifiers (e.g., advertising identifier)
    IP address
    Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
    Usage data related to ad delivery and measurement

If we use personalized ads, the App may request permission under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT). If you decline, non-personalized ads may still be shown.

  1. Third-Party Services

5.1 Apple Inc.

Purpose: App distribution, subscription billing and management, purchase restoration
What we receive: Subscription entitlement status only (we do not receive payment details)

5.2 Google LLC (AdMob)

Purpose: Banner advertising on the free plan

  1. How We Use Information
    We use information for: Providing App features (tagging, Coder management, XML save/share, layout import/export)
    Verifying subscription status and delivering Pro features
    Displaying ads on the free plan
    Compliance with law, fraud prevention, and responding to inquiries
  2. Sharing with Third Parties
    We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only: With your consent
    When required by law
    To protect life, safety, or property where necessary
    With service providers listed in Section 5, to the extent needed to operate the App
  3. Data Retention On-device data: Remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
    Subscriptions: Managed by Apple; we only check whether Pro is active.
    Advertising data: Handled under Google’s policies.
  4. Your Choices and Rights
    You can delete on-device data through the App or by uninstalling the App. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings. Contact us using the details below for privacy-related questions.
  5. Children’s Privacy
    The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
  6. Changes to This Policy
    We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices or legal requirements change. We will update the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Auto-Renewable Subscription Terms
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You may manage and cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. After cancellation, Pro features may remain available until the end of the paid period. Refunds are subject to Apple’s refund policy.
